Repatriating and seeking guidance on tax planning and investment options.
Peter has worked in the banking industry for the last 25 years. Working in the UK, Asia, and the Middle East. Before coming full circle and repatriating back to the UK.
I worked at several of the largest banks in the World and despite managing risk and having a pretty good grasp of the economy and markets. I simply didn’t have the time to manage my own finances efficiently.
I reached out to Jessica when I was planning repatriation with my family. This was a turning point for me. Despite earning a healthy salary often with substantial bonuses it was only at the point of relocation it really dawned on me that my own finances were not well looked after.
This led to Jessica reviewing my position and existing investments and pensions.
I had accumulated surplus capital. Money that was just sitting dormant in a bank, doing nothing. A complete waste. And despite working in the financial industry I needed guidance. Where would be the best place to put this cash? I am a little risk averse. Maybe that’s why I let the cash build up.
I also had a number of old pension pots from previous employment, that I needed advice on.
My wife and I also wanted to understand what options existed for passing on wealth to our children. As this is of high importance to us. I don’t want my years of hard work to be gobbled up by the taxman.
Now that we’re back in the UK, all of our finances are in order. We have complete clarity and confidence with our financial set-up now. In fact, we are armed with a robust financial plan. We have suitable tax-efficient products and a property trust that protects our estate. We know we are on track for our retirement goals and the burden of having to manage all of this by myself is no longer an issue.
